Dell SC420 - keeps rebooting

Dell Poweredge SC420 (Windows 2003 Std) keeps rebooting . It shows the Dell screen, then the Windows 2003 Server screen then it reboots.
It has 2 x disk, 40GB abd 80GB, not sure at what RAID level it was configured, can I check this from BIOS or Raid Controller utility? this server has some important info so we don't want to lose any data but it could simple thing just changing some settings on bios or raid controller but would like to confirm.
We've removed the hard drive , is it possible to backup the data just by plugging into the SATA-USB adaptor even if its RAID arrayed drive? suppose if its on raid 1

thanks

There are many issues that can cause the server to reboot while loading the OS, it could be software or hardware. if you have not already tried, use F8 just before the OS handoff and select "last known good config" or "Safe Mode".

That info can usually be found there. But with only 2 drives of different sizes, RAID is probably not used.

Also at the F8 screen, turn off Reboot On Error, and see if you can get an error message to help point to the problem.
