streak of lines in LCD screen - any health effects on eye?

Have you heard of issues of people straining with flat screen LCDs, especially ones that are going bad.. with the old CRTs that was an issue.. but is there any possibility for LCD if there for example, streaks of lines making shadows of lines on the screen?

People getting eye strain from CRT was because of the redraw rate of the CRT screens.   Just like TVs those screens redraw the screen so many times per second, crts work the same way.

LCD's dont do this so a streak of color down the screen should have no effect other than being a real annoyance....

MikeKane, what about a bad LCD where  lines are running down on the screen.. could that be an issue if working with such one for a long time..
There is no problem with lines running through LCD screens - even with CRTS, the problem was flicker, due to low refresh rates, which LCDs do not have.  A problem with lines in an LCD screen is likely a problem with the LCD controller.  There's no scientific reason for people to have problems reading LCDs.
