YIKES! Windows 7 Ultimate -- one of 3 computers STRANGE... can't address the drives

Homegroup settings and passwords verified, has been fine.... one of 3 systems on the home network. For the past few attempts, accessing any of the drives, whether C, D, E, F, G or H (some IBM SCSI drives), mostly though new drives. WD and Seagate. When I attempt to address these drives, pop up tells me no program is associated and needed to open and access the drives.
HUH???? All my years in computing this is a first.
Thanks a lot.
Checked all settings in McAfee Networking protections, firewalls, permissions, etc. It's really weird.
