A Network Taxonomy is some type of presentation of the structure and classification of your network.
It could be in a brief explanation/list or more popular is the for of a network taxonomy diagram.

Just google "network taxonomy diagram" for examples

@New2LMS:
Can you provide more context?  Did you mean "taxonomy for network" (aka "network taxonomy")?  If not, who is the intended audience for this information or who made the request?  What is the intended use?

I suspect Jacobfw's response is on the right track, but clarification will help.

Thanks Jacobfw and mark_harris231.

We are in the initial steps of developing a new LMS system. We need to import data into this system from other systems. While importing, I am trying to come up with a list of Network related terms. In this context  I wanted to  know what would be the taxonomy list for "Networking"?

Best Regards.

In regards to a LMS system, these are usually looking for a taxonomy of learning objectives.  For networking, this would be contextual based on your environment and audience.

For a business analyst the list might be:
- Understand basic networked communications and services
- Identify essential network components
- Describe the benefits of networking
- Understand and compare peer-to-peer and server-based networks
- Apply your knowledge when selecting an appropriate network type for small business use
- Suggest possible redesigns for a small but expanding network

For a network technician the list might be:
- Design a network layout
- Understand the various networking topologies
- Integrate the use of hubs into your networks
- Integrate the use of switches into your network
- Explore the variations of the standard networking topologies
- Select the best network topology for your environment
- Construct your network layout

However, you seem be looking for a specific list of "Network terms", so you could probably get those from the back of any common network text book or a web site like this one:
http://www.comptechdoc.org/independent/networking/cert/netterms.html
or you can use the IEEE standard set of network terms:
http://standards.ieee.org/findstds/standard/610.7-1995.html

I would filter this to the terms applicable to your site and circumstances.
