We continue to have the error id 342 "Controller ID: 0 Periodic Battery Relearn is pending. Please initiate manual learn cycle as Automatic learn is not enabled" on our server with RAID 5.

Is the battery life low? Is the relearn cycle disabled?

Assuming that a manual learn cycle did not resolve the problem I'd update the firmware first and then replace the battery.

hi,

it means The battery requires a relearn cycle to re-calibrate itself.

Action:- Use RAID Web Console 2 or RAID BIOS Console to initiate a battery re-learn cycle.

We use the MegaRaid Storage manager (http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?brand=5000008&lndocid=MIGR-5077712)

- What type of downtime does a "battery re-learn" cycle require?
- What are potential issues that can arise?
- How do we initiate this command from within the MegaRaid Storage manager?

The battery checks out fine, and the controller is currently running the latest firmware.

Thanks!
