Active Directory - Slow Connection

Hello,

We have three servers connected to the same switch. One is the application, the other one is the database and the other one is an Active Directory server.

When we try to log in to the application or database servers using the Active Directory username it takes ages to log in, and it seems to be the same issue that our customer is having on his application, they are having issues when trying to upload data to the database server using the active directory username.

Error in '/GP2011' Application.

Anything showing up in event logs. Have you checked there are no dns issues, run netdiag and dcdiag on the ad? sounds like dns.

Shouldn't \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\d\home\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\Web\GP2011\MS\XXX\10\R1_XXXXX102011_S2_MS.txt be:

\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\d$\home\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\Web\GP2011\MS\XXX\10\R1_XXXXX102011_S2_MS.txt  (notice dollar sign after D: drive)

This is looking like DNS. We will review DNS issues and will report back here. Thank you.

Check the DNS setting on the Server it should point to itself. If the public ip address is added in the NIC DNS setting remove the same and add to DNS forwarders if required. If 127.0.0.1 is entered as dns remove the same and add ip address also enter alternate DNS entry if muliple DND server exist.

Check NIC binding the NIC which is online and has ip details should be in first order. If multiple NIC are present then disabled the unrequired NIC.

Ran dcdiag /q and netdiag /q to check for any error.Check the event logs as well.

As you have mentioned that it's the application server which is having the issue.Check the DNS setting of the app server as well.

Try to ping the DC from app server is the DC reachable to if there is some network connectivity issue.
