max number of mailbox moves in exch 2010

How many mailboxes will move in exch 2010?
Like in exch 2007 you could select 20 or more but it would only move 4 at a time. Is that still the case with exch 2010?

In 2010 the Mailbox Replication Service (MRS) processes the move process.

Modify MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config file parameters below:

Edit MaxActiveMovesPerSourceMDB, This property indicates the number of mailboxes that can be moved on the source mailbox database at one time. The default value is 5 concurrent moves. Change it as per your Requirement.

Edit MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB, This property indicates the number of mailbox moves that can be moved on the target mailbox database at one time. The default value is 5 concurrent moves.Change it as per your Requirement.

Edit MaxTotalMovesPerMRS, This property indicates the number of mailboxes that can be moved by a single instance of MRS. The default value is 100 concurrent moves. Change it as per your Requirement.

Edit MaxActiveMovesPerTargetServer, This property indicates the total number of moves that can occur on the target server at a given time. The default value is 5 concurrent moves.Change it as per your Requirement.

Unlike in Exchange 2007, the default number of mailboxes you can move to a target database is 2.  This setting can be modified by going to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\v14\bin and opening the MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config file in a notepad editor.

You will want to scroll down to line 65 which starts the Mailbox Replication Service configuration section where all values are in order of Default, MinValue, MaxValue.   In line 74 you will want to modify the default value of MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB to a value up to 100.  I prefer to set mine at 5 based on manageability and resources to handle the mailbox moves.

You will also want to continue down to line 100 under MRSConfiguration and change the MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB to 5 as well.

Save your changes and you are now ready to move more than 2 mailboxes at one time.
