asked on

Backup Exec what is needed for licensing?

Hello All,

 Here is the server setup;

 Server 2008 Enterprise - Hyper V Host
  - Small Business Server 2011 - Hyper V Guest
  - Server 2003 Standard x64   - Hyper V Guest

We will be backing up to tape.

Using Backup Exec, what is the license I need to backup the Guests? Because the hardware (tape drive) is on the host, I believe I have to have the primary install be on the host.

 Is this correct?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response Forror.

When doing it like this, will I be able to backup Exchange / Sharepoint and so on inside of SBS?

You have to install backup exec on to the server where the device connected, then you have to install Backup exec remote agent on to other servers which you needs to take the backup
