Installing Updates - System Hangs

Posted on 2011-10-14

Updated the iOS of my MacBook Pro to 10.7.2. Running software updates, I says I need to install Lion Recovery Update. I have downloaded it, and although it says the install should only take a few minutes, it is stalling and running for hours. I have to force quit. I have deleted the download and tried again and at times it says it is waiting for a previous install to complete or the same thing happens again. How do I reset the installation history and/or get it to allow the update? Many thanks!

I had similar issues with the iOS before. If you're still running into issues and you have Apple Care or have had the device for less then a year, take a visit the Genius Bar at any Apple store. They can run a few diagnostics and fix any problems you may be running into
