Hey guys,

I am trying to install a Microsoft Loopback Adapter on Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 but the option for the adapter is not there. I have done this many times before with XP but I cant figure it out for POSReady 2009. Any ideas?

    Accepted Solution

Each embedded version is built for a specific purpose or task with only the required items included. If the item you are looking for is not installed, it cannot be done. You would have to obtain a new version from your supplier with the item included.

As POSready 2009 is in fact a componentized xp, you can copy the following files from an xp pc with microsoft loopback adapter installed and then choose 'have disk' when installing the loopback adapter on your POSready pc. should work fine.

    netloop.inf, netloop.pnf in %windir%\inf folder
    loop.sys in %windir%\system32\drivers folder
