Hello. I have a question to ask you.
I have installed the latest version of GIMP 2.6 to date (v. 2.6.11) program on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit operating system. This installation was a success. I have also successfully installed the “GIMP User Manual” in “English” into my system. NOTE: Both the setup installers for “GIMP for Windows” and “GIMP User Manual” are SEPARATE installation *.EXE setup installers. For your information, the “GIMP User Manual (‘s)” application I am using (I have installed.) file name is: “gimp-help-2-2.6.0-en-setu
p.exe” (without the quotes).
Now, here is the issue:
When I open GIMP program on my computer and I click on “Help” in the main menu, then “User Manual >”, then select from the drop down list any item, for example: “Basic Concepts” section; I do not get the user manual to run/load. Instead I get a window stating, “Help browser is missing”, “The GIMP help browser is not available. The GIMP help browser plug-in appears to be missing from your installation. You may instead use the web browser for reading the help pages.” followed by “Use Web Browser” or “Cancel” button options. Please see the attached and embedded screen clipping image for clarity below for details. So in some particular manner, the installed “GIMP User Manual” is not linked or connected to the GIMP program itself. I do have the option to use GIMP’s online manual, but I rather use the installed GIMP User Manual since I installed it and if I desire to work offline.
Can an expert please tell me how I can get my installed GIMP User Manual interactive with my installed GIMP program when I desire to open a section of the GIMP User Manual within the GIMP program’s main menu?
