I am running an ASP application with SQL Server 2008 and it throws an error every once and a while

Here is the error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECDoClientHandshake()).]SSL Security error.

I am running SQL Server 2008 R2

I have tried to debug this and it doesn't seem to be related to anything. It pops up about once a day and the way to reactivate the application is by restarting IIS.

The connection to the db is remote and this is the string I use:

set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
objConn.Open "Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=66.51.174.22; Initial Catalog=database; User ID=dbID; Password=password"

Any ideas?

Hi,

Seems to me you are getting problem because you have open recordset on website's webpages but  didn't close it properly that's why the connection to the database remain open and IIS database don't support unlimited connections on the database and that's why site was working slow or some time not responding. When you just restart your site, your website's all connection gets closed and after that its working fine but after some time it again gets full so I would suggest you that proper close recordset in your website's webpages after the complete operation of the database and problem will resolve permanently for you.
