VMWare Workstation 8

Hi,

I installed VMWare Workstation 8 but am missing some features:

-tabbed view: where is the view in which you can see the vm fullscreen and see other vm's tabs, doesn't seem to be there(?), really need that one, would make me decide to use previous version if it isn't there
-a vm (Windows 2008) doesn't show cursor inside vm anymore
=> I tried to update vmware tools but it says "Z not available", could be some setting of profile (googled it) but don't want to mess around with it/spend time on it, vm's just have to work, uninstall/reinstall didn't work either

Seems to be that my vm's work slower ... is Workstation 8 asking more resources?

Don't know if I'm that happy 'bout Workstation 8. Improvements aren't that great so far.

Do you use a proxy server?  If so, could you try going to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and either:
- Unchecking "Automatically detect settings" or
- Explicitly specifying a proxy server manually
This can solve the issue of slow startup and less permformance of your VMWare Workstation 8.

For the VM tools that cannot be mount, watch out that the drive letter is not used by another process.
