EMail Attachments

I am in Word and am right clicking in order to send the doc as an attachment to Outlook Express. However, it only sends it to Outlook as an attachment.  Am using Win XP.  How do i get the doc to send as an attachment to Outlook Express?

It looks like Outlook is configured to be the default email client.  You would need to associate Outlook Express as the default.  Open MY COMPUTER, then click on TOOLS, then FOLDER OPTIONS, then FILE TYPES.  Make sure that the Internet Mail Message file type is associated with Outlook Express instead of Outlook.

When using Send To Option in other Office Applications or even using other programs,
this is actaully done through Mapi Mail, not actaully by directly using Outlook or Outlook Express

So in a sense what you have to do here is change the default applicaion for MAPIMAIL

Stevehamilton is close, but need to look for the MAPIMAIL fiels extensions

Here is how to change your Default MAPIMAIL Application per Microsoft

1.Change the program that is associated with the MAPIMAIL file type to Outlook or to Outlook Express. To do so:

•Click Start, and then click My Computer.

•On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.

•In Registered file types, click MAPIMAIL, click Change, click Select the program from a list, click OK, and then click Browse.

•Locate and then click the file name of the program that you use as your default e-mail program (Outlook.exe for Outlook or Msimn.exe for Outlook Express), click Open, click OK, and then click Close.
