making XML into and rss extension

I created and rss feed using php. I am not sure how to get it to display as an .rss instead of a .php...For example, the page displaying the feed is

test.php (this files runs the php and creates the XML)

I want the page to be

    What webserver are you running?
    IIS or Apache?

    Don't do that.  XML is a data string, PHP is a program script.  They have different file suffixes for a good reason.  Instead, let your PHP script write the test.rss file into some path on your file server, and produce a link to the URL of the rss file.
