Parsed teh merged Cell Area

Hi,

 I have a requirement like(In Perl only )
I need to read certain value from a excel report (report is attached)
for example if I will pass my script COL LEVEL as   Internal  Attribution - Fnc:Short Benefit:Pending Realized

and ROW LEVEL as  Summery
Then the perl script should open the excel sheet ,Traverse the COL LEVEL and ROW LEVEL and take out the Value .
In my Case the Value would be -1665.9596.

Can anybody please please help to parse the value like in this way ?

you are asking for help in getting perl to open an excel spreadsheet and search for a specific location and then read the value of the cell?
 - unless Perl has a set of file management options I am not aware of this is not possible without an external library to handle the open/extract part (you could handle it as a call to excel but that would involved excel being installed on the box where the perl is executing).

I suppose you could try reading/interpreting the binary stream or make sure the supplied file is in XML format but even then I wouldn't trust the results.
