I am trying to setup a radius server to use with my Aruba Wirless controllers. I have setup up everthing on the 2008 box and the controllers and the passwords and settigns do match, The problem I am having is when the user try to autheticate using a AD group which is specified on the radius server they get "incorrect username or password" but the settings are correct and when I look on the radius server I get an event 18 "An Access-Request message was received from RADIUS client x.x.x.x with a message authenticator attribute that is not valid."

this message can have many causes.
take a look to MS technet.
post the full event-text (scramble ip,username, domainname)

take a wireshark capture and look to the radius content.

Yeah I have already looked at that articlet and the entire event is posted in the original text. I will do a wireshark and look at the results

Ok so when I run the wireshark I need the radius access request and the access reject which is what I thought I would see given the erros I posted earlier. The question is why is the server rejecting when the user is in the correct group defined in the policy and the NPS seetign match the Aruba settings utlilizing EAP and the shared secret is correct.
