ipod sync version 5

Hi All,

I have Itunes version 10.5.0.142 running on a Windows 7 x64 computer.  I just upgraded the Ipod software to version 5.0.  Now it won't sync, it says it is syncing but the music does not appear on the Ipod, it's shows up fine in Itunes, but doesn't move to the Ipod.

Can you help me fix this?

I did a reset on an iPod having the same issus and then it worked fine.  I used this link for info: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
Does any of the music you are syncing have red !. If so the fill missing and/or damaged and will not transfer. If not do the following:

If you select ipod then  music tab to right.
uncheck sync music tab and then let it delete music from the device then resync it.

Hi
Thanks for the suggestions.  I did the reset, still no sync.  None of the music has any red exclamation point.  Itunes has the text in the box that shows it is syncing but no music actually goes to the Ipod.  The sync takes only  a few seconds but it actually doesn't sync.

What's next?

Hi, I found that doing a restore upgraded the Ipod to software version 5, not to the original software version for the iOS.  So, it works now.
