Can a partition table be recovered?

Hi,
I have wiped my laptop today using Ghost, I have run TestDisk and the partition table has been wiped, can I recover this?

try spinning up gparted - that may help you recover your partition

Yes.  The above suggestions a great.  To this I'll add...
You could also use Paragon.

First do you have a backup?  Perhaps not? So, the best thing is to make a backup first, and several programs can recovery backup your files even though the partition has been initially "erased"/overwritten.

ok, so I ran active partition recovery was taking ages to scan so left it over night, come to the laptop this morning and it's back on the screen ready for a scan again?

I think Ghost already done a good job for you by making a clean wipe.
If you can't recover using a partition recovery tool, probably others would not work neither.

There is very slim chance to recover your data on your own once you have wiped your laptop.
 you can use third part vendors that can recover the data for you .you can try the vendor near to your location they charge a lot. but again depends how crtical your data was
