DFS shares between Server 2003 and 2008

We are currently running DFS in a server 2003 r2 environment and I'm trying to add a Server 2008 r2 to the DFS to replicate a share on the Server 2003 DFS. I installed the FRS as mentioned in this link, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754297%28WS.10%29.aspx so that 2003 could talk to 2008. The files replicated to the 2008 server and all was well. Several hours later I started getting reports that people were having issues access the share that was replicated and upon investigating found that he people having issues were pointed to the new server and the file replication was not working. People pointed to the share on server 2003 were working fine. I checked the settings and the replication was still setup exactly like it was when it worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have Windows 2003 R2, which has DFS-R. Use it instead of FRS. FRS is horrible; DFS-R works pretty good. Switch your replication to DFS-R and you should be in good shape once replication completes. You can the the DFS Diagnostic report to check on replication status.
