What is the meaning of this strange error, and how can we fix it?

We apply a login batch script to users when the log in to our Terminal Server. (windows 2008r2)
When it applies, it throws this error at us-

'\\domain.org\sysvol\domain.org\Policies\{random set of numbers}\User\Scripts\Logon'
CMD.EXE was started with the above path as the current directory.
UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows directory.

We're seeing other issues with Group policy, and we are wondering if this is another instance of it's instability.
Our AD environment is 2003.
