SCCM - OSD deployment - unable to download using HTTP

Hi All

Im having problems downloading the WIM in SCCM.
I am receiving 401 errors when connecting to the DP:

from the smsts.log

Setting URL = http://XXXXX/SMS_DP_SMSPKGD$/AAA0000A/.
Address = XXXXXX, Object = /SMS_DP_SMSPKGD$/AAA0000A/, Port = 80.
WinHttp credentials set
CLibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: XXXXX:80  PROPFIND /SMS_DP_SMSPKGD$/AAA0000A/
The request requires user authentication. 401 Unauthorized

I have been stuck on this issue for a while and I cannot fix it. I have been through all the IIS settings (using IIS7) and I cant find the problem.

In IIS, under the SMS_DP_SMSPKGD$ virtual directory, I have set "Authentication"  to:

Anonymous Authentication - disabled
ASP.NET Impersonation - disabled
Forms Authentication - disabled
Windows Authentication - enabled

The .NET Authorization is set to allow all users

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

    Please download the ConfigMgr Toolkit v2 and run the MP Troubleshooter against your DP for maing sure it has the correct config.

    Also check this:

    401 1 is login failed, have you specified a Network Access Account on the Computer Client Agent?

    Accepted Solution

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

    The problem is not with the network access account. It has all been set and triple checked, including the password. The problem was the client was not passing the credentials.

    I have rebooted the deployment point server which has solved the problem for now. I do not know what caused it.
