Multiple Exchange 2010 Servers in single Domain

Currently have a single Exchange Server with 4 databases totaling 475GB and it is overloaded (processors are fine but memory is maxed, the information store service takes most of it).

- For now I would like to introduce another Exchange Server and transfer half of the mailboxes to it to take some of the load from existing server.

- Later I would like to introduce a third box to somehow replicate all databases to it for DR.

Any recommendations, or guidelines would be greatly appreciated.

Don't lose your time and resources, no matter what you do information store will always take all the memory available on your server even if the latter has no mailboxes at all.

This is the way exchange works IS will reserve as much memory as possible to reduce IO to the max and, thus, be faster

Agree with Akhater. It is by design.

Run performance monitor to see whether you have any bottlenecks on the server? If you user complaining about performance? If not, things are fine.

You can have additional server for HA using DAG.

There's definitely a bottleneck, network load is just one of it. I've had slow performance and I've already rebooted the server several times to get it back to normal.
Will go ahead and just introduce another box to handle the load. Will then introduce another box later on for DAG.
