Move Mailbox Error - Migration SBS 2003 to SBS 2011

Hi all,

I have been trying to migrate the mailbox from my SBS 2003 and I have the following error in the "move request" in the Exchange Management Store.

When I try to remove the queued request, or stop the ones that are "moving", I will have this error :

--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Error
--------------------------------------------------------
Action 'Remove Move Request' could not be performed on object 'username'.

I cannot remove the queued request, even though a few hours ago I did after trying to solve the problem myself. I googled and a permission issue was mentionned. So I wen in the properties of my admin user, advanced feature, and activated the "inherit permissions". I also added the "Full Control" check for all Exchange groups for my admin user.

I restarted many time the Information Store (sometimes it was already stopped!), that didn't help.

I have been following the SBS migration to the letter. I have also been looking at MS guide for the migration of Exchange. My server has almost finished replicating the public folder, so some things seem to be working ok.

Some website mention a firewall problem. What do you think ?

Here are other problems I found in the event viewer that might help you :

You can always rule out a firewall problem if both machines are on the same site. Dissable windows firewall on both servers and any other 3rd party f/w you may have.

That's what I thought... and public folder replication seems to be working fine.

Any idea ? Last night, finally, in the middle of "nothing", I was able to remove some of the queued requests... but I left the two "moving" one and 3 other queued request... hoping that during the night, they would be moved. And this morning, same problem, cannot abort or remove. I cannot either see the properties of the the moving requests :(

Any idea ?

Well for now, I have been just following the guidelines : no updates at all have been installed (of course everything was installed on the source server).

I have been following these two similar guides :

And since last night...going on and on... 5 seconds later the service restarts, and 4 seconds later, its stops.

So no drivers, nothing has been installed on my source server. Maybe that wasn't the smart idea but I read that with SBS Migration, the best thing to do is to install updates at the end.

Should I reboot the server and install drivers & updates?

StephRuAuthor Commented:
Oh well, I have answered my question : I should have installed at least rollup 2 (if not more recent, like 5) and I wouldn't have had this problem.

Now I can move on to the next problem :(

StephRuAuthor Commented:
One must install Exchange Rollups after migration... or not you get the errors I had.
