Outlook 2007 question - contacts

I'm using the above at work in a Spanish company.  Not being used to very long spanish names and trying to identify what part of the name is the surname esp when like most companies, outlook displays the last name first in the TO field and in the corporate directory, I'm trying to make my life a little easier.

The contacts who I save to my personal contact list, I "file" them as e.g. "Peter" rather than "Pan, Peter" and similarly if the department email name is "UK Global Markets - Legal" I file them as "Legal".

Why then, when I type in the TO or CC field "Peter" or "Legal" does it then not populate automatically when I click on the check names button in my new mail composition?  In most cases it automatically populates with the closest match from the Outlook Address Book or previously sent to names.

Thanks.

Excellent, this works thanks.  I wish I knew that 7 years ago!

Will this work for blackberries i.e. when typing the first name on my BB, it will be able to search my contacts before the global address book?

Hi Ab,

sorry for the delay.

sorry but I haven't tried it with blackberry. but it it has the same settings I think it is possible.
This is only for Outlook 2007.

May I ask what model of BB you have?

Its the latest BB Curve, but I dont think it is BB specific.  I think its to do with the connectivity on the mail server right, I mean the outlook address book syncs with my exchange mail account?

BB has two way in receiving emails.

One is via BIS, you need to register your BB on their BIS site and sync using the web-mail address.
(but I haven't check the contact sync, I'll let you know tomorrow)

other one is from BES, but I haven't tried it.

Hi ab,

in syncing the Outlook Contact to your BB, you might want to use the "BlackBerry Desktop Software"

Hope it helps.
