Exchange Message sent to Sender if mail is to large

Hi experts,

i think i have a very simple question.  i have changed the size of send file and receive file.

I have been asked is it not possible to send an email to the receipient also, telling them that an email has been sent that exceeds the max size so they also know that the sender is trying to send them a file.

    if you are just using exchange it won't be possible as its dropped when it hits the server. If you have forefront for exchange in front of it you can use filtering that is advanced past baisc exchange attachment filtering and filter by size so that it can strip the attachment out and leave the message to carry on
