Problems with Excel workbooks

Hi All

I am having some problems with excel workbooks. I have a computer that is having problems opening excel files with macros. Every time it tries to access the file i get the following error message. "Excel found unreadable content in 'file_name.xlsm' Do you want to recover the contents of the workbook?"

If I click yes I then get another error message  stating that "Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content. Now all the Macros are gone.

Any Ideas?

Is it Office 2007? Did you do any upgrade recently?
it may be because of links to a file that hasn't existed for a long time. Here is how u can fix it:

When you receive the message error, click Yes.

When the repair message comes up, click Close.

File -> Option -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> External Content,

Change from Prompt to Disable on both settings. Click Ok.

Save workbook and the error must be gone when reopening it.

That just stops the error message from displaying, however the macros are all gone. Any ideas how I can keep the macros running?

Can you record macros on that machine? Did you do a full Office install including VBA on it?

Yep that was it. VB was not installed.
