Hi Experts,

I have installed WebSphere MQ 7 with interactive mode and by mistake I choose installation directory as /opt/mqm during installation steps. And now after installation, I have the following directory structure-
hostname:/opt/mqm/opt/mqm
I am trying to remove with following command and while removing it do not find the path to the installation. It look for default path and don't find the binaries there.
Command --- swremove MQSERIES to uninstall the MQSERIES package

Can you tell me if I can use option to provide the path to /opt/mqm/opt/mqm ?

This is the error I see:
Could not remove the software selection "MQSERIES"; it is not available from depot or root "hostname:/".

Procedure varies depending on platform. Uninstall instructions for each platform as found in the Quick Beginnings section of the IBM websphere information center.

On Linux, you use rpm.

As I stated above the command to uninstall is swremove MQSERIES
This is HP-UX operating system
The problem is that I have installed under following location instead of /opt/mqm

/opt/mqm/opt/mqm
now when I run the above command, its not allowing me to uninstall and is looking for binaris under /opt/mqm instead if the actual installed location.

This is the error I see:
Could not remove the software selection "MQSERIES"; it is not available from depot or root "hostname:/".

Try

 swremove MQSERIES @ /opt/mqm/opt/mqm

Also, you might try swremove all by itself.  Looks like it will show you a list of installed bundles and products, and you can just select from the list.  No idea if this will give you better results or not, but it is worth a quick try.

I've never installed or uninstalled on HP-UX before, so proceed at your own risk!

According with HPUX specification you can try

swremove MQSERIES @ /opt/mqm/opt/mqm

this two link can help you.
