Microsoft Exchange Server

My OS is windows 7 and I use Outlook 2007, and I also have the latest Outlook Connector installed..  How does one get an account with Microsoft Exchange Server and what purpose does this feature do in so far as email clients like Outlook 2007.

Microsoft's website promoting their Exchange server. http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/en-us/default.aspx

Search for "exchange hosted services" if you feel you really need an Exchange account to connect to for some reason.

Exchange server is an E-mail server. Typically they are deployed in a corporate environment, although some ISP's provide Exchange services as well.

Unless you are in a business environment I would say just use your current E-mail provider (or use Gmail) and don't worry about Exchange. It provides shared calendar, address book and public folder services that a home user really doesn't need.
