the reason i ask is we have databases 2000,5,8,r2.. and we want to consolidate the databases into one VM. i want to know if the 2000,5,8,r2 can be in their own compatability mode and stay in an R2 instance without problems? and for future compatability, will be able to throw in a Denali database if needed, later on?<br />

when I say 2000, i understand that R2 maynot be able to do anything about DTS, Analysis services of 2000. other than that, can it at least hit the databases OK? (query against them from SSMS R2)
