Two Vista Ultimate, lattest updates. One acts as the peer-to-peer server of a small office network.

When at the "server' watching one of the shared folders, the changes made (add/delte files) by other users are not shown unless you do a refresh.

Any ideas?

ldavis07: I do not quite understand your question. But you mae me remember one more aspect worth mentioning, just in case.

Some of the folders are AVAILBLE OFFLINE so that one notebook can SYNC files for travel purposes.

Well that may be the case with you computer problem you have now. If its not set up to view offlien it may not automatically refresh. You may be able to try to set them all up to view offline to check and see if that fixes your problem. Like you said some of the folders are available offline and if the computer itself is not set up that way it may cause problems and not auto refresh

I do not understad a word you aresaying. I am soory.

What do you mean by "if the computer itself is not set up that way it may cause problems and not auto refresh"?

What is for you to "set them all up to view offline"?

With all due respect .... making ALL folder available OFLINE when the re is no need for that at all and just to see if the auto refresh works does it i snot an acceptable slution, even if it work. Offlines folders takes a toll in disc space, among others.

I agree but you would not have to set them all up offline just the one that is causing the problem. If they are tyring to access things and the server is not allowing it then the server needs to allow them to view offline not necessarily turn them offline just apply the setting to allow them to view offline

the problem is in ALL network folders.

And still, you are referring to a " setting to allow them to view offline ". I do not know of nay settingother than MAKE FILES AVAILABLE OFFLINE. Is that what you are talking about?

If so, thanks but no thanks. even if that fix the problem, which I doubt it, I will not do it.

Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type NoSimpleNetIDList, and then press ENTER.
On the Edit menu, click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK.

you may be able to try this since its a problem when you create/add/delete files
