Install Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller in Windows 2003 Envirment

Hi,

We are currently  Windows 2003  domain function level and I have several Widnows 2008 files servers. I still have one Windows 2000 server exists. I need to make a Windows 2008 R2 to a domain controller. What command do I need to run? Any risk of it? Will I be able to access Window 2000 server?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks a lot!

You will be able to access the Windows 2000 Server this is not a problem as long as it is a member server.

You need to run adprep32 to upgrade your schema

From here you can dcpromo the Windows 2008 Server R2
