Recovering Email from Deleted Mailbox

Good Afternoon,

I've taken over a company which cleaned out all old mailboxes in March of this year. They have a backup from Backup Exec 11d of the server just before the deleted and purged all old mailboxes. I am now at the mercy of a request to restore one of the mailboxes to retrieve some lost emails.

I have no issues restoring the mailbox to an RSG. However since the mailboxes have been removed from the current mailstore, I cannot use exmerge to move the mailbox to a PST, neither can I recover the mailbox in storage manager to the user if I enable their account and create a new mailbox for the user. I've done a lot of reading on this and am finding more and more that I could be without a paddle up you know whats creek.

There has got to be some way without building a whole new server to restore these mailboxes. I'm working on 2003 servers with exchange 2003 (not enterprise). All users are still in AD but disabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you have your Exchange dtabase file (EDB file) you can recover for $50-$75

Either way you can use exchange ontrack delivery Software. It is very simple to use.
Or simply you can create a user in AD and respective mailbox to that user can able to exmerge from RSG.

Exmerge won't recognize the mailboxes in the RSG that are no longer in the current mail store. Hense why i'm having this problem, Creating a new user and mailbox doesn't really help, I can't restore to a PST because Exmerge will only bring up mailboxes that show both in the current mail store and the RSG.

Unless i'm missing something here?

(Could you provide a link to the on track delivery software? Google isn't doing much for me on finding that)

Search Google for something like "Export Mailboxes from offline Exchange database without Exchange Server"

Soooo I'm looking at paying for a service rather than finding an actual way of restoring these mailboxes?

lucid8 is given you a quick solution to make your work easy.

If you have time
You try restoring database to RSG and extract the mailbox
