msiexec problem

Hi Experts.

I have an old Windows 2003 Server.
Seems like ms installer is broken.

I'm no longer able to install- or uninstall msi packages.
No errors - it just times out after several hours with 90-100% CPU.

Tried to trinstall installer 4.5 and servicepack 2 - no luck.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Have you tried
   msiexec /unregister
   msiexec /regserver
from a command prompt?
