SQL Server 2000 Connection Error

Hi Experts,

Microsoft SQL 2000 SP4 is installed on a Windows 2003 Server and by using an IBM InfoSphere software we are trying to connect to the SQL database by using localhost (127.0.0.1) and default port 1433. Unfortunately we getting the following error:

IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture cannot run as a target due to the following configuration error: .
Failed to initialize SQL-DMO.
Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).

Any solutions?

Thanks

Hi Angel,

We have been through all the steps and unfortunately still does not work. On four difefrent Servers we have SQL 2000 Server Installed and on three of them what we trying it works fine except on the one we having the error. W e have checked all the settings and they are all the same. The SQL Server and Client are on the same Machine we are using default port 1433 and localhost of 127.0.0.1.
you must have missed a step, like did not check firewall(s) (even local ones) for example ...
We do not use local firewalls our windows firewall is turned off.......
