We see this error a lot on our FreePBX system.  Any idea what it means?
app_dial.c:2197 dial_exec_full: Unable to create channel of type 'SIP'

    Accepted Solution

It just means the call failed at the first hurdle - Asterisk was unable to set up the call. This could be due to connectivity problems, bad password, bad address, etc. As an error, this message is too general and covers too many possibilities for us to be able to help. Can you post more detail using some combination of "core set verbose 3" or "sip set debug on" at the CLI or using wireshark to capture the SIP packets (if there are any).

Was able to resolve with command sip set debug on and looking through logs.
