BlackBerry Desktop - backup log

Is anyone aware of if blackberry desktop saves a backup log when a backup is run?

I am trying to determine if a backup was actually run in working on a situation where there's an issue with the phone but the backup file can't be found on the hard drive under the documents folder.

thank you.

If the backup is not found, then it never actually ran.

have you searched for any files ending in .ipd?  These are backup files.....

i did, unfortunately they're not there.

a technician was working with the phone to switch it over from BIS to BES service, they tethered it and said a backup ran but we can't find the backup file anywhere.  there was an issue after activation where it wiped all the contacts that were on the phone off so we were trying to retrieve from the backup that we can't find.

the end user says they didn't delete anything but we found deleted files in their recycle bin that weren't there yesterday so it seems someone may have deleted it.

i was wondering if there was some other way for me to verify that a backup ran other than the existance of the file to figure out what happened.
