The error message is:

"Either BOF or EOF is true or the current record has been deleted. Requested
     operation requires the current record"

The situation is strange.  This is happening in the Payroll series when the user enters the 'Calculate Checks' screen.

FYI: a check build has been run successfully with no errors.

The strange part is that when running the same process via server, no message appears.  When running at the users workstation it appears the message.  If we run the same process but with SA in the users computer still error message

We are currently looking up the error and the closest found is: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921345 where it talks about Integration Manager and a "UseOptimizedFiltering=True".

Please advice

Thank you

Also checked out article 964264 where it states a workaround  to create a new account set instead of renaming an existing account set (this is more directed to Frx)

Hi,

If the error does not appear on the server, but does appear on the user workstation, then my guess is that there is a problem with the user's GP install or a modification installed on that workstation.

1. Do you have any Dexterity, Modifier, or VBA modifications or customizations on any payroll windows?  If so, try disabling all mods. (move all .VBA files out of the GP directory and move the Forms.dic and Reports.dic files out of the GP directory, then set the user's security to use only standard GP windows)

2. Try the same process on another user's workstation (logged in as a different user and sa) to see if the error occurs there.

3. If the error does NOT occur on other workstations, make a backup copy of the entire GP directory on the 'problem' workstation, and then copy all of the GP files from a good workstation to the problem workstation.  Then test and see if the issue is resolved.

Good observation.  As per comment number

   1. Yes, all 3 PC has VBA & Modifier.  Will try disabling and moving of .VBA & security
       recommendations.

   2. Will try

   3. Will try

Hi,

That particular error message is a classic Microsoft data access (ADO) error, so I would bet that the problem is with VBA code in a modified window or modified report.

The code should always check for End of File (EOF) conditions, i.e.:

While Not recordSet.EOF

      ...loop through records...

Wend

Or if the code is only expecting to retrieve a single record:

If recordSet.EOF Then
      ...skip record or display error...
Else
      ...process record...
End If

Somehow the error hasn't occur.  All our backups, test db, etc. has been migrated top anther server and all production DB has been migrate to VS, so we can't recreate the problems or further troubleshoot it.

Nevertheless, we have awarded to closely related to possible solution for future.
