Intel Pro/wireless does not detect router

intel pro/wireless 3945abg network connection does not detect router.  Could this be because a service is not started?  I checked the zero configuration service that started and it was.  What other services does it need.  I also unplugged the router and plugged it back in but it still did not fine it.

Can you see the router with a different Wifi-device (phones and such) ?
Can you find different networks with your laptop (in your neighborhood/mall/fast food) ?

Make sure your router doesn't working on 802.11n or at least support other protocols at the same time.

I can see the router from other systems....this one for example.
I can not see other networks with the bad computer.
The router supports all (a g n) etc
