We find that when we print to our HP Laserjet 2420 from an MSOffice application, that it squares the Number of Copies.  For example, if I print a Word document and enter 3 as the Number of Copies, it will actually print 9 copies.  What's causing this?  Can it be remedied?

lol we had the same problem with that printer....it was slated to be replaced anyway so we didn't worry about it. Maybe a firmware update? Not sure if that model has user upgradable firmware but check it out on HP site. Otherwise try a different driver than what you're using, like different PCL or Ps or something.

I was using a PCL6 driver which I learned has some issues.  They say that the PCL5 and PCL5e drivers, though not as broadly applicable, are more robust...not sure if I'm wording that the best.  Anyway, replacing the PCL6 driver with the PCL5e driver fixed the problem.
