Which open source, multi-lingual, lamp based CMS?

I am the web developer for a multinational company.
Right now we have about 14 localized websites in various countries.
It is getting to the point where manually
maintaining all 14 sites (and adding more) is getting hairy.
We need a CMS.
There are sooo many CMS’s out there.
For example, if we would simply like to add a product once on the CMS and
have it propagate to the sites we want it to be found on (some countries
we don’t have rights to sell in ). In addition, some of these sites are in
different languages.

Suggestions welcomed.

Would like:
1. Open Source
2. Low support costs (if any).
3. LAMP based
4. multi language capabilty
5. SEO optimized

Thanks for your time!

Here is what I would do...  I see from your time zone setting that you are on the US west coast.  Join the local PHP users' group in your community and find out what they use.  Then use that.  You will have a ready-made network of professionals who are addressing the same questions with the same technology.

The most popular CMS systems are Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress.  So I think if I were surveying these, I might make some Google searches for terms like "Drupal multiple languages" or "WordPress SEO."  You will find the answers as well as many examples of how others have implemented the features.

Tall order.

Are you talking about one site or a network of separate sites but with the ability to control them from one location?

I recommend ExpressionEngine, It is the most flexible CMS I know,  it is very secure and template system is easy.

There is a way to manage several sites from one main interface:

Thank you all for your contributions and time.
I have alas found EXACTLY what I needed.
PLONE. http://www.plone.org

Highly secure - a number of high profile govt agencies use it eg FBI.
Open Source
And it was built from the ground up with multilingual capabilities within it -over 40 languages.
Support seems to be vibrant and consistent.
Runs on Zope. I always wanted to tinker with Python!
