Sonicwall login issues

Trying to log into a Sonicwall with username and pass Remote connected into the server. i put username and pass in, but the website just reloads. no bad username or pass message. just a quick reload. so i went to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/auth.html  renetered again, got a "you are being redirected, click here" pop up, and presto, back to the username and login. thistime it was called /auth1.html. im sure the credentials are right, but if they werent, i would get a bad username/pass message. I'm checking it on IE7, should i upgrade to a different IE? or do i have to reset the sonicwall? Thoughts?

Use firefox. I have had some strange issues with ie and sonicwalls. Firefox always works better for some reason.

Has this ever worked for you, or is this new?

Are you trying to log into the management interface or SSLVPN?

I assume you are trying to log into the WAN interface. If management, did you set the Sonicwall to permit managment from the WAN interface?

Are you using http or https?  If http, try https.
If u use IE make sure compatibility mode is off. It causes funky things to happen.

Carlmd: it has been working before, it just started doing this. I'm a new employee and going off of what has been documented.
I'm trying to log into the Management interface from the server hitting the internal IP. not from the outside world.
I could install firefox, but since they have been using IE7 before, i'm alittle hesitent to install something on the server. when i try and hit the sonicwall from the WAN i cant seem to find it, so i assume i cant? im not very familier with sonicwalls yet.
amatson:have not checked compatibility mode yet will do so.
thanks in advance for all your help!
Do you know if the user login you are using has permission to login and use the management interface, and also are you sure you have the correct password. What you describe is a symptom of either not being true.

Have "you" ever logged in with the user name and password you are using now.
Also, lets make sure you are using the login name as "admin".

If you are failing with http then try https, and vice versa.

Carl:
I myself have not logged into the sonicwall with this username/pass combo before.
I am using admin as the login name, when i try HTTPS: it does the same thing but does give me a "certificate error" message saying the certificate is invalid.

carl: also i've logged onto some of our other sonicwalls and when i input a bad user/pass it tells me so. this isnt doing it, just reloading the page.
