what is an imaging drum

I have ordered 4 laser toner cart for my printer.  Are these pieces considered "imaging drums" or is that something separate

some printers you get a drum with the toner - this is generally considered a waste as the drum will last longer than the toner - so now many printer sell these seperately - the drum may cost 2 or three times the cost of one toner cartridge but will last quite a while, and by not including a drum with each toner the toner cartridges are cheaper

Toner cartridges and imaging drums are different components of a laser jet printer, however some are combined into one -- check your printer manual to confirm.
