Hi All,

I have a folder on media server to which a daily copy of database is copied. I want to create a backup specification where the task should check for an appropriate signal file (for ex, START.TXT) and if it finds that this file is there then backup of that folder should start. How can i resolve this?
Idea is to create a Batch file which will have a data protector backup command with condition that there is a signal file. Task will be scheduled to run every 15-20mins and in case of success write the folder to tape.
can this be done in other way?

i got solution myself.

Script is as following:

@echo off
if not exist "D:\FOLDERNAME\START.TXT" goto 20
echo file exist
"C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin\omnib" -datalist "BACKUP_SPECIFICATION_NAME" -server servername
goto end
echo file not exist
rem add action for condition file not exist

Open in new window

and then i add this script to task scheduler to run every 30mins

thanks anyway
