I have a Dell Latitude 2.0 ghz, 3GB memory, Centurion duo, 300 GB HD that has become very slow and I am going to do a fresh install of windows. Should I buy Windows 7 or will this be to resource demanding for this PC? Alternatively I will reinstall Vista that came with the PC.

This specification is enough for Windows 7 HP. I recommend you can go for Windows 7 HP.

But are you sure that OS is the reason for the slower PC.??    There might be other causes for the slowdown.   What is the age of this system?

Thanks for your response. I think I bought this laptop in 2008.

I dont believe that the OS is a problem per se - but that there is to much obsolete software/tools/stuff installed (and uninstalled). I believe that Windows reinstall is a practical way of cleaning up?
