datatype conversion error in SSIS package

I have a SSIS Package which fails to transfer data to the destination  database table.
The error I am getting is;
[SQL Server Destination [3131]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E07. An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client"  Hresult: 0x80040E07  Description: "Error converting data type DBTYPE_DBTIMESTAMP to datetime.".

The datatype in some of the database table columns is datetime and I have converted  some columns of the source data to DBTYPE_DBTIMESTAMP, which I assume is compatible with datetime…

Any help appreciated, thanks

    Accepted Solution

    According to books online, that should work.

    Also, it's not your data conversion task that is failing, it's the insert into the destination. Chances are very good that you have specific values that are failing. You may have to examine your source data to find the values causing the problem.
