How to delete Exchange 2007 Mailbox (user already deleted from Active Directory)

I created a new user in Active Directory and a new mailbox on Exchange 2007. There were some problems login into the new user account on the PC and I deleted and recreated the user account in Active Directory.

Now the Exchange Mailbox is out of sync (cannot find the user in Active Directory).

Since this is a new mailbox, I just want to delete and recreate the mailbox. But I am unable delete the mailbox from Exchange 2007 as it reports the user is not found.

How do I force Exchange 2007 to delete a mailbox ?

Hi, Yes, I see the mailbox in EMC, but both disable and removing gives the same message above.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

fyi the user was deleted from AD last Friday, but till now the mail box is still no orphansed. Anyway to force the mailbox to be orphaned? Thanks.
The problem mysteriously went away. The mailbox dissappeared, did not even first appear in Disconnected mailboxes. The Delete mailbox after xx days was set to 14.

Microsoft bug.

Cheers
