VS2010 'Inherited Values' path question

If I look at the Project Properties of ceratin VS2010 dll projects I see that:
Configuration Properties->VC++ Directories->Include Directories
contains the path:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK %28February 2010%29\Include
in the 'Inherited values' (which cannot be edited).

Hoe can I get this path into the 'Inherited Values' of a brand new VS2010 solution.

Thanks

Hi Wanting2LearnMan,

you can simply add this path to the INCLUDE environment variable - then after restarting VS 2010 this path should be within 'Inherited values'.

Hope that helps,

ZOPPO

Reading http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee855621.aspx it looks like these can also be set up on a per-user basis. Specifically from the link ... "By default, per-user property sheets are located at <drive>:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSBuild\v4.0."

ZOPPO's solution will change the machine environment for all users, which is probably applicable in 99% of cases. You could extend his solution to set up batch files to open Visual Studio with different environment settings if you really needed to.

Cheers,

1. Also in Visual Studio, open the 'Property Manager' for the solution.
2. Right click the file Microsoft.Cpp.Win32.user and make a change in there.
