Trial Version of Vranger - Error on restore

Hi all,

Using a trial version of Vranger v5.2 (physical 2008 box) to backup my vm's Vsphere 4.1. I created a SIFS repository on the local server partion. I backed up the VM without any errors. When i try to restore it bombed out immediately with error Message: "An internal error occurred during execution, please contact Vizioncore support if the error persists"

Anyone come across this before?

Create an entry for the following ESX(i) host in DNS Server-. This is environment specfic; below are the requirements. Also if host file is used then create a host file entry.

vRanger host machine :
flush the dns using the following command ; "ipconfig /flushdns"
register the new dns server settings; "ipconfig /registerdns"
ping the ESXi host using , "ping {IP Address}" - this will generate arp traffic
perform nslookup , "nslookup {ip address}"
stop vRanger service. "powershell.exe "get-service vRanger* | stop-service ; get-service vRanger* | ft -au"
start vRanger service. "powershell.exe "get-service vRanger* | start-service ; get-service vRanger* | ft -au"
Open vRanger GUI, Create Restore Job , Run Restore Job.

Yes, it's a very common, generic error.

Check the restore logs.

(But also remember Quest Vizioncore offer free support as part of the trial!)

Do you mean it the report running a report under "my reports"? or is there another log location?

Check the actual job log for that restore

Trouble is it errors on the first window after selecting the restore button. I dont think it creates any logs

Do you have any other VMs that you could test restore?
MJB2011Author Commented:
Yes i have also backed up another VM from a different host. This was backed up to teh same CIFS repository with exactly the same error point.

Received this from Quest support.
