Illegal operation attempted on a registry key...

...that has been marked for deletion.

A friend asked me to look at his very slow Satellite Pro.

After attempting to download/run Combofix from Bleeping Computer I finally got it running after removing AVG and McAfee and fighting off attempts to stop me running it.

I've attached the log and have never seen so many deletions.

However, since the last reboot after completing Combofix, if I try to run any program/open any file, I get the above message.

Any ideas. Oh, the really bad new is - it's running Vista.

what happens if you start in safe mode? if you can get into safe mode
try a clean boot by using msconfig and disabling all start up items
hide microsoft services and disable the rest and then reboot into regular mode.
